Against the template.

Every Webflow block has a point of view. Every Squarespace section carries an aesthetic position. Most people don't notice because the positions are so common they've become invisible.

The template is not neutral. When you choose a template, you are not choosing a blank canvas. You are choosing someone else's answer to questions you haven't asked yet.

The template answers with the safest possible response. The design that will offend no one and distinguish nothing.

I am not against the template because it is easy. I am against it because it is dishonest. It pretends to represent the business while representing someone else's idea of what a business should look like.
